★ AMTA 2024 - USA

The stars are aligning for a great AMTA 2024 conference! This year marks the 30th anniversary of the first AMTA conference and the 70th anniversary of the first public demonstration of machine translation. The opening day of the conference falls on International Translation Day. And MT, LLMs and generative AI are enjoying broader use than ever for facilitating cross-lingual communication. While AMTA has “MT” right in the middle of its name, our focus is not only on Machine Translation but also encompasses any use of technology, such as Large Language Models and generative AI, for cross-lingual use cases. After all, the huge recent advances in AI through transformer networks and LLMs began with R&D in Machine Translation.

AMTA 2024 will provide engaging sessions and productive networking opportunities for in-person attendees, as well as virtual access for remote participants from around the world and a full day of virtual tutorials ahead of the conference.
